Dr. Jürgen Kleine-Vehn is working currently at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna. He is studying how the phytohormone auxin influences plant growth and architecture. His work is focused on Arabidopsis thaliana root development and aims at answering the following questions: (1) How does a plant coordinate differential growth on an organ level to establish its architecture?; (2) How is growth coordinated in neighboring tissues?; (3) How do intracellular auxin carriers regulate cellular auxin homeostasis?
He will be the keynote speaker in the Phytohormones session.
