The keynote speaker of the Ecology and Environmental Changes Session will be Prof. Ted Turlings from the Université de Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He is studying mechanisms of above and below ground multi-trophic level interactions via chemical signalling. The research in his lab is closing the gap between molecular and biochemical processes in plants and its effects on herbivores. The following cascading effects to higher trophic level like parasitoids or entomopathogenic nematodes and their behaviour and learning abilities are not only contributing to the understanding of ecological systems but also open up new opportunities for biological control.
